We love living in Minnesota and over the years we’ve learned about the best things to pack when you come camping with us. The weather can range quite a bit from early spring to late fall and from early morning to late evening. That is why you’ll want to bring a range of clothing with you – just in case.
It’s wise to have clothing that you can layer on and off. The temps might be cool in the morning, warm in the afternoon, and then cool again at night. So, bringing some extra sweatshirts, light jackets, vests, warm socks, and even long johns, is advised. Some people bring warm hats and gloves which can be nice if you’re tent camping during the cooler seasons. Fingerless gloves are pretty handy, too, and they allow you more mobility so you can wear them as you do your daily tasks.
If it rains, you’ll need clothing to keep your self dry. Have a few umbrellas on hand and bring raincoats with you, too. A pair of shoes that repels water will be useful in keeping you warm and dry. You might like to pack an extra tarp or two to keep your gear dry as well.
The kids will love running in the rain and splashing in puddles so an extra stack of towels will be your best friend in rainy weather. A blow dryer will be useful to dry everyone’s hair quickly. We want your visit to be a great experience and being prepared for whatever Mother Nature has planned will help to make that happen. We can’t wait to see you this year.
